Short bio: Betsy Levy Paluck is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Psychology and of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and the deputy director of the Kahneman Treisman Center for Behavioral Public Policy. Her research focuses on the reduction of prejudice, conflict, and violence, including ethnic violence, youth bullying in schools, and intimate partner violence. She conducts large-scale field experiments to test the efficacy of interventions to reduce conflict both in the US and abroad. Much of her work points to the power of social norms, our perceptions of what others believe, for guiding our behavior. She is a 2017 Macarthur “Genius” Fellow, a fellow of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, and received the Graduate Mentor award from Princeton University.
